VERSE:
From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your
people.
-- Psalm 3:8

http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=Psalm+3:8

THOUGHT:
God is The Great Deliverer! That's his chosen expertise. Whether
it was delivering the Israelites through the Red Sea from Pharaoh's
army ages ago, or it is rescuing a sinner from sin and death
through Christ today, our God is The Great Deliverer! So let's use
today to repeatedly pray for people who need God's deliverance from
sin, death, disease, family conflict, addiction, financial
concerns, legal matters, mental illness, abuse, and temptation.

PRAYER:
Holy and Righteous Father, please deliver the friends who are on
my heart, and whose names I place before you now. Please release
them from their bondage and deliver them into a time of blessing,
comfort, and assurance of your abiding presence. In Jesus' name I
pray. Amen.

Mustard Seed Thoughts: B I G Heaven Talk

ChristWeb.com : Mustard Seed Thoughts
B I G Heaven Talk
Heaven's Big By: Ron Edmondson
"Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me?" says the Lord. Acts 7:49 NIV

I don't know everything about Heaven, but I know one thing: Heaven is B I G!!!

God says that Heaven is His throne. Not His whole house, just where He sits to rule! And earth is His footstool. Wow! Now that will make you think!

If the earth is His footstool? If I remember correctly, the earth is a mass some 24,000 miles in circumference. In fact, the country of the United States represents about 6% of the land mass of the world, and yet it has almost 4 million square miles of dry land! I have driven 1,000 miles in one day and it wears you out; can you imagine driving cross country, or travelling around the world? I have flown to the other side of the world and I lost a day getting there. This earth seems big to me! But to God, it's only a footstool.

Then we consider Heaven! Wow! All the angels, thousands upon ten thou sands. The mansions for all the saints, the streets of gold. God basically says when talking about Heaven: You ain't seen nothing yet!

And, yet, Heaven is only His throne!

I think the point is God is Big! God is an awesome and wondrous God, larger than our human minds can take us!

And yet He cares for you and me! Doesn't it make you want to love Him?

=========================== TODAY'S ARTICLE ==========================

Loving God, by Paul Faulkner

One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"

Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and
greatest commandment"

(Matthew 22:35-38 TNIV).

How do you go about showing your love to God? A friend of mine said,
"We could try giving presents to God, but the delivery problems are
immense!"

Maybe the best way is by seeking to be like Him. That's the greatest
compliment.

What better gift can you give?

Things like loving your neighbor without regard for his or her
"lovableness"; showing compassion for those who suffer, or for those
who are small and can't defend themselves.

Intimacy with God occurs not so much in worship at church, but in
transformed character that can endure silence and solitude as well as
do ordinary tasks in an extraordinary way for ordinary people. By a
person like you, who is willing to let God have His way in your life in
all the little things.

What better gift can you give to God than yourself?

---------

Morning & Evening -- Mark 11:22 and Psalms 118:8

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / Charles Spurgeon's MORNING & EVENING

http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday, March 7, 2008

MORNING:

"Have faith in God."
-- Mark 11:22

Faith is the foot of the soul by which it can march along the road of
the commandments. Love can make the feet move more swiftly; but faith
is the foot which carries the soul. Faith is the oil enabling the
wheels of holy devotion and of earnest piety to move well; and without
faith the wheels are taken from the chariot, and we drag heavily. With
faith I can do all things; without faith I shall neither have the
inclination nor the power to do anything in the service of God. If you
would find the men who serve God the best, you must look for the men of
the most faith. Little faith will save a man, but little faith cannot
do great things for God. Poor Little-faith could not have fought
"Apollyon;" it needed "Christian" to do that. Poor Little-faith could
not have slain "Giant Despair;" it required "Great-heart's" arm to
knock that monster down. Little faith will go to heaven most certainly,
but it often has to hide itself in a nut-shell, and it frequently loses
all but its jewels. Little-faith says, "It is a rough road, beset with
sharp thorns, and full of dangers; I am afraid to go;" but Great-faith
remembers the promise, "Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; as thy days,
so shall thy strength be:" and so she boldly ventures. Little-faith
stands desponding, mingling her tears with the flood; but Great-faith
sings, "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and
through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:" and she fords the
stream at once. Would you be comfortable and happy? Would you enjoy
religion? Would you have the religion of cheerfulness and not that of
gloom? Then "have faith in God." If you love darkness, and are
satisfied to dwell in gloom and misery, then be content with little
faith; but if you love the sunshine, and would sing songs of rejoicing,
covet earnestly this best gift, "great faith."

EVENING:

"It is better to trust in the Lord, than to put confidence in
man."
-- Psalms 118:8

Doubtless the reader has been tried with the temptation to rely upon
the things which are seen, instead of resting alone upon the invisible
God. Christians often look to man for help and counsel, and mar the
noble simplicity of their reliance upon their God. Does this evening's
portion meet the eye of a child of God anxious about temporals, then
would we reason with him awhile. You trust in Jesus, and only in Jesus,
for your salvation, then why are you troubled? "Because of my great
care." Is it not written, "Cast thy burden upon the Lord"? "Be careful
for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication make known
your wants unto God." Cannot you trust God for temporals? "Ah! I wish I
could." If you cannot trust God for temporals, how dare you trust him
for spirituals? Can you trust him for your soul's redemption, and not
rely upon him for a few lesser mercies? Is not God enough for thy need,
or is his all-sufficiency too narrow for thy wants? Dost thou want
another eye beside that of him who sees every secret thing? Is his
heart faint? Is his arm weary? If so, seek another God; but if he be
infinite, omnipotent, faithful, true, and all-wise, why gaddest thou
abroad so much to seek another confidence? Why dost thou rake the earth
to find another foundation, when this is strong enough to bear all the
weight which thou canst ever build thereon? Christian, mix not only thy
wine with water, do not alloy thy gold of faith with the dross of human
confidence. Wait thou only upon God, and let thine expectation be from
him. Covet not Jonah's gourd, but rest in Jonah's God. Let the sandy
foundations of terrestrial trust be the choice of fools, but do thou,
like one who foresees the storm, build for thyself an abiding place
upon the Rock of Ages.

My Utmost For His Highest : "Undaunted Radiance"

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST --

http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

March 7, 2008

UNDAUNTED RADIANCE

Nay, in all these things, we are more than conquerors
through Him that loved us.

Romans 8:37

http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=ro+8:37&sr=1

Paul is speaking of the things that might seem likely to separate or
wedge in between the saint and the love of God; but the remarkable
thing is that nothing can wedge in between the love of God and the
saint. These things can and do come in between the devotional
exercises of the soul and God and separate individual life from God;
but none of them is able to wedge in between the love of God and the
soul of the saint. The bedrock of our Christian faith is the
unmerited, fathomless marvel of the love of God exhibited on the
Cross of Calvary, a love we never can and never shall merit. Paul
says this is the reason we are more than conquerors in all these
things, super-victors, with a joy we would not have but for the very
things which look as if they are going to overwhelm us.

The surf that distresses the ordinary swimmer produces in the
surf-rider the super-joy of going clean through it. Apply that to our
own circumstances, these very things - tribulation, distress,
persecution, produce in us the super-joy; they are not things to
fight. We are more than conquerors through Him in all these things,
not in spite of them, but in the midst of them. The saint never knows
the joy of the Lord in spite of tribulation, but because of it - "I
am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation," says Paul.

Undaunted radiance is not built on anything passing, but on the love
of God that nothing can alter. The experiences of life, terrible or
monotonous, are impotent to touch the love of God, which is in Christ
Jesus our Lord.

BLESSINGS OF THE FAITHFUL

Romans 16:1-27

http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=Romans+16:1-27

Dear Father, my strength,

I bless you for the multitudes of believing people who have gone
before me, for those named in the Bible whose examples of love and
loyalty to you I would like to imitate.

Help me to be a helper, to work hard and to be approved like they
were. Never let me be among those who create dissensions and
difficulties, in opposition to the doctrine of your word.

Help me be wise about what is good and guileless about what is
evil, that through you Satan can be crushed under my feet.

Let the grace of the Lord Jesus be with me.

O God, be my strength! To you, the only wise God, be glory
forevermore.

In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

More for the Listener

"You people that hear me, listen! Think carefully about the
things you hear. The way you give is the way God will give to
you. But God will give you more than you give."

-- Mark 4:23-24 (ERV)

KEY THOUGHT:
If yesterday's message (We will one day be able to understand all the
truth about the Kingdom.) was intended to comfort us, today's message
is meant to motivate us. We must earnestly, attentively, pursue the
truth of Jesus. The only way to do this is by paying attention to what
he says! That means re-acquainting ourselves with the Gospels and
focusing on his words. Only as we apply ourselves to listening to our
Master will we be able to grow in our ability to perceive, to
understand, and to know the full will of our Savior. The old RCA Victor
logo had a picture of a dog listening attentively to the "speaker" of a
gramophone with the title "His Master's Voice." Jesus is saying to us
that we must have our ear to Scripture and listen for our Master's
voice!

TODAY'S PRAYER:
Father in heaven, help me as I try to be more disciplined and attentive
to the words of your Son and my Savior. I want to know Jesus' truth by
studying his life and words, understanding them, and putting them into
practice. Mold me and make me more into a person like my Lord as I
listen for his voice. In Jesus' name. Amen.
