Being Able to Do All Things in Christ (2)

Being Able to Do All Things in Christ (2)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bible Verses ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Phil. 4:12 I know also how to be abased, and I know how to
abound; in everything and in all things I have learned the
secret both to be filled and to hunger, both to abound and to
lack. (13) I am able to do all things in Him who empowers
me. (18) But I have received in full all things and abound;
I have been filled, receiving from Epaphroditus the things
from you [the Philippian church], a sweet-smelling savor, an
acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.
3:8 ...that I may gain Christ (9) And be found in Him...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words of Ministry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(Part 2 of 3)
My reason for dwelling on this matter is to point out that
our circumstances are always sovereignly arranged by God.
Sometimes His sovereign arrangement puts us in a low
situation, and at other times in circumstances that are quite
good. Paul realized that even though the supply had come from
the church at Philippi, his circumstances were still in the
hand of God. In God's sovereign arrangement, the Philippian
church did not send the supply until now. Perhaps they had
the heart to send him a gift, but not the opportunity until
Epaphroditus could come. When the opportunity was available,
the Philippian believers sent a gift to Paul. This supply
brought him out of the condition of humiliation, want, and
abasement and set him on a peak. But he did not know how long
that would last. Nevertheless, he had the assurance that he
knew both how to be abased and how to abound, both how to
abound and how to be in want. He had learned the secret; he
had been initiated into the basic principles of Christ and
the church.

In verse 13 we find a basic principle related to the
apostle's secret of sufficiency in Christ: "I can do all
things in Him Who empowers me." Paul was a person in Christ
(2 Cor. 12:2), and he desired to be found in Christ by
others. Now he declared that he could do all things in Him,
in the very Christ who empowered him. This is an all-
inclusive and concluding word concerning his experience of
Christ. It is the converse of the Lord's word concerning our
organic relationship with Him in John 15:5: "Apart from Me
you can do nothing."

An Announcement, An Apology, And Request (Please Read)

Dear Christian Married Friend,

Thank you for your past support of our various Christian
marriage and sex sites and resource offerings.

Susan and I sincerely appreciate your trust and look
forward to interacting and, maybe, providing help.

This is NOT a normal email from us. So, please read
to the end before you move on...

But first, the announcement...

We are proud to announce that we have finally completed
the move to our new "hub" site, ChristianSexFacts.com.

Going forward, this will be the primary place for you
to find Christian marriage and sex resources, support
from us and community with our other members.

PLEASE take a minute to check it out and book mark it.

What's there now...

-Almost two years of blog posts, consolidated from our
past blogs.

-Almost three years of our "Christian Sex Newsletters."

-A new way to ensure that your questions, concerns and
comments will be received directly by us or our staff
(under "About" and "Contact Us").

-A "Recommended Christian Marriage Resources" section.

What will be there soon...

-A Christian Marriage & Sex Video Section. This was one
of our most popular features on old blogs and we are
just putting the final touches on it.

-Integration with our Facebook.com page so that we
will have the ability to make ChristianSexFacts.com
a true "community." We can all benefit from each other's
ideas and support!

-Integration with our Twitter.com channel. If you like
to "tweet," we will be able to provide you with updates,
news and helpful information via Twitter.com now too!

And now to the apology...

Until very recently, we had "outsourced" the marketing,
technical and customer service aspects of our ministry.
After receiving many complaints recently that all of
these areas were starting to "fall short," we have
made sweeping changes in this area and will be taking
a much more active approach in these areas.

If this affected you in any negative way, we, first,
want to apologize! We sincerely cherish your
relationship to our sites and products...and us.

As the leaders of any organization,
we have had to make priority calls and rely on others
to follow through for us; this, recently, has not
worked out as well as we would like.

Going forward, we hope that the new "centralized" nature
or our ministry's structure (everything now comes back
to ChristianSexFacts.com!) and the new "Contact Us"
feature on the site will ensure that things no longer
"fall through the cracks."

If you currently have ANY need for customer service or
follow up on ANYTHING...submit your need through the
"Contact Us" page on ChristianSexFacts.com and we
guarantee that we will do our best to make things
right as quickly as possible.

And, finally, the request...

My friends and family tease me quite a bit for my
penchant for promoting our products in a "too broad"
way. This may be because I grew up in the same city
as TV's Billy Mays (The yelling, bearded infomercial
guy). I hope you'll forgive this tendency because

a) I spent twenty years as a salesman and actually
like the marketing aspect of our ministry.

b) Even though our ministry's primary goal is to
help and support as many Christian couple's marriages
as possible, it is still how we pay the electric bills
and feed four kids (well...I eat a bit too...but that's
another topic). So, we NEED your support to continue.

That said...

Today, I'm going to drop ALL the marketing hype and
just get to the point.

The last six months have been very difficult for us
as a ministry and as a business.

We have been let down (and misled) by several "experts"
that knew exactly how to "fix" our problems.

The downturn in the economy has had an effect on us, as
well.

So...

Like at no time in the past, your support of our ministry,
through the purchase of our resources will be GREATLY
appreciated.

IF, AT ANY TIME, you felt that one of our resources might
be helpful to your marriage or sex life, I am requesting
that you consider taking advantage of the following offer...

You can get access to ALL of our resources (EVERYTHING we
can think of!) for a one time purchase/donation of only
$37.00!

We picked this amount for a reason...

No matter which of our resources you may or may not have
purchased in the past, you will be gaining access to
AT LEAST $37.00 in new value with this package...and
it is the normal price of most of only one of our
resources.

Included in this package...

-Sexual Skills For The Christian Husband
-Sexual Satisfaction For The Christian Wife
-When Your Husband Is Never In The Mood
-She Loves God, Sex & Me!
-The Christian Kama Sutra (Revised, Updated version
of "Positions For Christian Couples & Games for
Christian Couples)
-300 Sex Questions For Christian Couples
-Sexy Coupons
-101 Romantic Ideas
-Healing Touch Massage
-Access to "The Ultimate Guide To The G Spot" site.
-Premature No More
-How To Work Through Anger & Resentment In Your Marriage
-Audio Version of Sexual Skills For The Christian Husband

ALL of the above, most of which have a normal price of $37,
each...for only $37.00!

Usually, I try to make these promotions a "limited time" type
of deal. I do this to try to "push you off the fence."

Frankly,I'm not feeling too "Billy Mays like" today...
moreso, I'm feeling a bit humbled by the past few months
and hopeful that you have found our resources valuable enough
to consider taking advantage of this offer.

Although it will be limited to our subscribers and will
NOT be offered through any other way, I can't tell you it
will expire in 24 hours. It will expire soon...we simply
can't "keep the lights on" offering our entire product
catalog for only $37.00...but it won't expire until we solve
our short term financial crisis. Frankly, we hope this is
pretty quick, but only God is control of that. So, it could
be a few weeks.

In the meantime, please visit ChristianSexFacts.com and
browse around the blog and other resources. Take a look
at the individual sales pages for each of the products listed
above.

I'm pretty sure, you'll realize what a valuable offer this is.

If it's already obvious to you how much the above "treasure
trove" of Christian marriage and sex resources can
transform your marriage and sex life, we'd REALLY appreciate it
if you'd support us by purchasing this huge bunde of resources
TODAY through the following link:

http://ChristianSexFacts.com/everything-only-37/offer.html

If you are a new member/subscriber, this email may seem a bit
"out of the blue" and strange. If so, I apologize.

If you are a long-time member/subscriber, you know that this
email is NOT a normal type of thing for us and, frankly, was
not something I wanted to do. I much prefer relying on the
value of our resources (and a little bit of my "marketing"
skill) to "keep the lights on" in the ministry. But, this
truly is a unique and critical time for us.

If you can help by taking advantage of this offer, please do
at:

http://ChristianSexFacts.com/everything-only-37/offer.html

If you can't, please keep us in your prayers. We sincerely
appreciate ALL of your support...and especially your
prayers. Be sure to hang out at a bit at ChristianSexFacts.com,
as well.

Also, we would appreciate ANY of your comments, questions
and support. Please drop us a line through the "Contact
Us" section of ChristianSexFacts.com.

Robert And Susan Irwin
ChristianSexFacts.com

P.S. Please forward this email to any friends or family
that you feel might benefit from gaining access to ALL of our
resources for just $37.00. There will NEVER be a better time
for them to invest in these resources.

Mustard Seed Thoughts: Bloody Subject 2

ChristWeb.com : Mustard Seed Thoughts
Bloody Subject 2
By: Ron Edmondson Mustard Seed Thoughts
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Hebrews 9:22 NIV

There is no other way. Yesterday we saw the importance of blood. Today we see again the importance of the shedding of blood. Without it, there would be no forgiveness. Can you say thank you God for the shedding of blood?

When my youngest son was little, he was really into bandages. He constantly wanted me to bandage his finger, or his toe, or his leg, or any other part of his body. It was usually over nothing visible to the naked eye, but it was important to him at the time. I remember one time when he was actually bleeding. You would have thought he was already near death! Mere bandages would not do!

We do not usually like to see blood flowing. I would suspect it was not a pleasant sight to see the blood flow from the scarred skin of Jesus, either. Even if you were there, and had fully known the truth wi thin the shed blood, I doubt you would be applauding the event! Yet, His blood did shed. As they scoured His back with lash after vicious lash, the flogging must have taken huge toils on His skin. I have read that flogging was a science to the Romans. They knew just how to tear the skin, producing blood, but not yet taking the life. They reserved that for the Cross. I suspect Jesus, while He hung on the Cross, was not all cleaned up as modern pictures would suggest, but was rather brutal and bloody looking. It was not a pretty sight!

But, are not you glad the blood flowed? After all, without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. Had Jesus not come, had the blood not flowed, you and I would still be sacrificing lambs and goats today! Our sins would still not be forgiven completely. The shedding of Jesus blood made available to us the perfect sacrifice.

Praise God for the shedding of blood!

=========================== TODAY'S ARTICLE ==========================

Am I Lucky ... Or What?, by Steve Ridgell

"Boy, you are one lucky fella." That's what the policeman told me when
he was evaluating the wreck. I had been stopped at a red light when a
car ran into the back of my pickup. There was no sound of brakes and no
skid marks. She hit hard enough to cave in the front of her car and
deploy the airbag. It was such a violent collision that my spare tire
was knocked from underneath the truck. The frame was even bent from the
force of the collision. And I was not hurt. I was not even sore. I had
absolutely no discomfort from the accident. The medics and police kept
asking me if I was sure I was not hurt. Everyone kept talking about how
lucky I was.

But my truck was totaled. I was going to have to find a new one. I
worked out what I thought I could pay -- how much per month and for how
long. Then I began to shop around. The dealer I usually work with had a
demo they were ready to sell. And in this economic climate there were a
couple of other discounts available. So I figured out what I would have
to receive for my totaled vehicle for the deal to work. The salesman
did not think I would get what I needed. But I did. Most people would
call that "dumb luck."

I would agree with both of these assessments except for one thing: I am
a Christian. I often pray for God to protect me on my travels. When I
began shopping for another truck, I prayed that God would help me find
the right vehicle that would be reliable but keep me fiscally
responsible. I believed my truck had belonged to God and I promised Him
the next one would also.

I do not believe in luck. I believe in God.

Everyone operates with a world view that enables them to "make sense"
of what happens in this world. Some believe in dumb luck; others call
it blind fate. I believe in God. I believe God is active in this world
for His people. He wants you to be one of those people. He wants you so
much that He sent his Son Jesus to this earth to provide a way for you
to get to Him.

So how did God work in my situation? I do not know that I completely
understand. If I did, I would be God ... and I am not. But it makes
more sense to me that God was at work rather than attribute all that to
luck. If you would like to know more about a relationship with a God
that is real and active in your world, write me at
steve@hopeforlife.org and let's talk. Or join the discussion at our

Morning & Evening -- 2 Samuel 9:13 and 2 Samuel 9:8

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / Charles Spurgeon's MORNING & EVENING http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

MORNING:

"So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat
continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his
feet."
-- 2 Samuel 9:13

Mephibosheth was no great ornament to a royal table, yet he had a
continual place at David's board, because the king could see in his
face the features of the beloved Jonathan. Like Mephibosheth, we may
cry unto the King of Glory, "What is thy servant, that thou shouldst
look upon such a dead dog as I am?" but still the Lord indulges us with
most familiar intercourse with himself, because he sees in our
countenances the remembrance of his dearly-beloved Jesus. The Lord's
people are dear for another's sake. Such is the love which the Father
bears to his only begotten, that for his sake he raises his lowly
brethren from poverty and banishment, to courtly companionship, noble
rank, and royal provision. Their deformity shall not rob them of their
privileges. Lameness is no bar to sonship; the cripple is as much the
heir as if he could run like Asahel. Our right does not limp, though
our might may. A king's table is a noble hiding-place for lame legs,
and at the gospel feast we learn to glory in infirmities, because the
power of Christ resteth upon us. Yet grievous disability may mar the
persons of the best-loved saints. Here is one feasted by David, and yet
so lame in both his feet that he could not go up with the king when he
fled from the city, and was therefore maligned and injured by his
servant Ziba. Saints whose faith is weak, and whose knowledge is
slender, are great losers; they are exposed to many enemies, and cannot
follow the king whithersoever he goeth. This disease frequently arises
from falls. Bad nursing in their spiritual infancy often causes
converts to fall into a despondency from which they never recover, and
sin in other cases brings broken bones. Lord, help the lame to leap
like an hart, and satisfy all thy people with the bread of thy table!

EVENING:

"What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a
dead dog as I am?"
-- 2 Samuel 9:8

If Mephibosheth was thus humbled by David's kindness, what shall we be
in the presence of our gracious Lord? The more grace we have, the less
we shall think of ourselves, for grace, like light, reveals our
impurity. Eminent saints have scarcely known to what to compare
themselves, their sense of unworthiness has been so clear and keen. "I
am," says holy Rutherford, "a dry and withered branch, a piece of dead
carcass, dry bones, and not able to step over a straw." In another
place he writes, "Except as to open outbreakings, I want nothing of
what Judas and Cain had." The meanest objects in nature appear to the
humbled mind to have a preference above itself, because they have never
contracted sin: a dog may be greedy, fierce, or filthy, but it has no
conscience to violate, no Holy Spirit to resist. A dog may be a
worthless animal, and yet by a little kindness it is soon won to love
its master, and is faithful unto death; but we forget the goodness of
the Lord, and follow not at his call. The term "dead dog" is the most
expressive of all terms of contempt, but it is none too strong to
express the self- abhorrence of instructed believers. They do not
affect mock modesty, they mean what they say, they have weighed
themselves in the balances of the sanctuary, and found out the vanity
of their nature. At best, we are but clay, animated dust, mere walking
hillocks; but viewed as sinners, we are monsters indeed. Let it be
published in heaven as a wonder, that the Lord Jesus should set his
heart's love upon such as we are. Dust and ashes though we be, we must
and will "magnify the exceeding greatness of his grace." Could not his
heart find rest in heaven? Must he needs come to these tents of Kedar
for a spouse, and choose a bride upon whom the sun had looked? O
heavens and earth, break forth into a song, and give all glory to our
sweet Lord Jesus.

My Utmost For His Highest : "The Life That Lives"

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST -- http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

May 27, 2009

THE LIFE THAT LIVES

Tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued
with power from on high.

Luke 24:49
http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=lu+24:49&sr=1

The disciples had to tarry until the day of Pentecost not for their
own preparation only; they had to wait until the Lord was glorified
historically. As soon as He was glorified, what happened? "Therefore
being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the
Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He hath shed forth this, which
ye now see and hear." The parenthesis in John 7:39 ("For the Holy
Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified")
does not apply to us; the Holy Ghost has been given, the Lord is
glorified; the waiting depends not on God's providence, but on our
fitness.

The Holy Spirit's influence and power were at work before Pentecost,
but He was not here. Immediately Our Lord was glorified in Ascension,
the Holy Spirit came into this world, and He has been here ever
since. We have to receive the revelation that He is here. The
reception of the Holy Spirit is the maintained attitude of a
believer. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive quickening life
from the ascended Lord.

It is not the baptism of the Holy Ghost which changes men, but the
power of the ascended Christ coming into men's lives by the Holy
Ghost that changes them. We too often divorce what the New Testament
never divorces. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is not an experience
apart from Jesus Christ: it is the evidence of the ascended Christ.

The baptism of the Holy Ghost does not make you think of Time or
Eternity, it is one amazing glorious NOW. "This is life eternal that
they might know Thee." Begin to know Him now, and finish never.

Praying with Paul : "Open Statement of Truth"

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / PRAYING WITH PAUL from HEARTLIGHT -- http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

OPEN STATEMENT OF TRUTH

2 Corinthians 4:1-6
http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=2+Corinthians+4:1-6

Dear Father, powerful sustainer,

You have called me to minister your mercy to the world, so let me
never lose heart or give up! May I renounce disgraceful,
underhanded ways in all forms and refuse to practice cunning or to
tamper with your word.

Let me state truth plainly and thereby commend myself to every
one's conscience in your sight. Even if the message of Good News is
veiled to some, it is veiled only to those who are perishing! Open
the eyes of those whom the god of this world has blinded. May they
see the light of the Good News, the glory of Christ, your very
likeness.

May I not put forth myself, but Jesus Christ, for I am your
servant, your slave, for Jesus' sake! For you have said, "Let light
shine out of darkness." I invite you to shine out of my heart so
that others will see the light of your glory, the face of Jesus
Christ, in my life.

In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

WJD! -- Only the Son Knows -- Matthew 11:27

Only the Son Knows

"My Father has given me all things. No person knows the
Son--only the Father knows the Son. And no person knows the
Father--only the Son knows the Father. And the only people
that will know about the Father are those people the Son
chooses to tell."

-- Matthew 11:27 (ERV)

KEY THOUGHT:
The New Testament makes strong and exclusive claims for Jesus. These
claims are not based just upon the conclusions of men, but go back to
several powerful claims of Jesus. While these claims are most clearly
seen in the Gospel of John (the "I Am" statements of Jesus and the
emphasis on the Son's knowing and doing the Father's will), they occur
in the other Gospels as well. In this statement, Jesus is claiming to
be the only one to really know the Father and his will. In the Sermon
on the Mount, Jesus speaks as one who has authority, making clear the
will of God. As he leaves the earth, he does so with all authority --
in both the spiritual realm ("in heaven") and in the physical realm
("on earth"). The bottom line for Jesus' followers is what we do in
response to Jesus as Lord. What we believe about him and who we believe
him to be determine everything of lasting and eternal value in our
lives.

TODAY'S PRAYER:
Sacrificial Father, thank you for sending Jesus so I could know you and
your will. Your love and kindness in sending him has given me
confidence that when I stand before you in judgment, it will be to hear
you say, "This is my child, whom I love, and in whom I am well
pleased." For this hope and assurance, I offer you my praise, my life,
and my all. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
