Living Christ (3)

Living Christ (3)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bible Verses ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Phil. 3:9 And be found in Him, not having my own
righteousness which is out of the law, but that which is
through faith in Christ …
Col. 2:6 As therefore you have received the Christ, Jesus
the Lord, walk in Him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words of Ministry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(Part 3 of 3)
In the Christian life it is easy to follow certain practices.
For example, we may realize that we are talkative and may
adopt the practice of limiting our speech. However, we may
succeed in restricting our talkativeness and yet fail to live
Christ. It is one thing to follow a certain practice; it is
another thing to live Christ. God does not care for how holy,
spiritual, or victorious we are in ourselves. Actually, to
live in this way by self-effort is to strive to keep the law.
What counts in the eyes of God is Christ and the living of
Christ. Concerning the matter of living Christ, the situation
of today's Christians is far from God's goal. This is the
reason we are fighting and struggling to enter into the
genuine living of Christ in a practical way. God wants His
people to live Christ. We should not care for holiness,
spirituality, or victory as things in themselves, and we
should not care for our natural virtues or attributes.
Instead, we should focus our whole attention on living Christ
and care only to live Christ that He might be magnified in
us.

In the book of Philippians Paul encourages us to think the
one thing (2:2). This one thing is to live Christ. We should
care only to live Christ and magnify Him. Instead of pursuing
holiness, spirituality, or victory, we should seek to live
Christ and magnify Him always with all boldness, whether
through life or through death. God's desire today is that we
live Christ.

Do not allow anything to distract you from the direct,
personal experience of Christ. Today we need to focus our
attention on the one thing--to live Christ. We all need to
pray, "Lord, have mercy on me and rescue me both from sinful
things and from good things, even spiritual things, that
replace You in my daily life. Lord, rescue me from everything
back to Yourself. Also, I ask You to grant me the grace each
day that I may truly live You and be found in You." I can
testify that this kind of prayer is effective. Let us all
seek the one thing and pursue the one thing--to live Christ
and magnify Him.

Today's Verse : 1 John 4:11

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / TODAY'S VERSE from HEARTLIGHT -- http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

February 5, 2009

VERSE:
Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one
another.

-- 1 John 4:11
http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=1+John+4:11

THOUGHT:
We are loved by the Creator of the Universe. He knows us
personally. Our Heavenly Father cares about us tremendously.
Although God knew about our weaknesses and sinfulness, he was
willing to pay a terrible price to redeem us. Even though we are
sometimes weak or rebellious, he loves us, forgives us, and
welcomes us back when we are willing to confess our sins and come
home to him. So if God has consistently, faithfully, and graciously
loved us, how can we not share that love with each other?

PRAYER:
Thank you, Abba Father, for your awesome and gracious love.
Please continue to pour that love into my heart through your Holy
Spirit. Please help me be more forgiving, patient, and sacrificial
in my love to your children. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Ahora puedes escribirme a:jmeskon6@yahoo.com.co

- Dear Sir, Confidential Business Proposal Having consulted with my colleagues and based on the information gathered from the Nigerian Chambers Of Commerce And Industry, I have the privilege to request your assistance to transfer the sum of $47,500,000.00 (forty seven million, five hundred thousand United States dollars) into your accounts. The above sum resulted from an over-invoiced contract, executed, commissioned and paid for about five years (5) ago by a foreign contractor. This action was however intentional and since then the fund has been in a suspense account at The Central Bank Of Nigeria Apex Bank. We are now ready to transfer the fund overseas and that is where you come in. It is important to inform you that as civil servants, we are forbidden to operate a foreign account; that is why we require your assistance. The total sum will be shared as follows: 70% for us, 25% for you and 5% for local and international expenses incidental to the transfer. The transfer is risk free on both sides. I am an accountant with the Niger Delta Development commission (NDDC). If you find this proposal acceptable, we shall require the following documents: (a) your banker's name, telephone, account and fax numbers. (b) your private telephone and fax numbers —for confidentiality and easy communication. (c) your letter-headed paper stamped and signed. Alternatively we will furnish you with the text of what to type into your letter-headed paper, along with a breakdown explaining, comprehensively what we require of you. Important Message From ( Marshall )

I am Mr B Marshall, Senior Staff, with a Bank here in Madrid- Spain . I got your contact while searching for a reliable someone to contact for this transaction in regards to a business transfer for a huge sum of money in a dormant account. I need your assistance to transfer to overseas Nine Million, Five Hundred and Fifty Thousand United States Dollars Only (US$9,550.000.00).

I am seeking your humble assistance to provide either an existing bank account or set up a new Bank account to receive this fund, even an empty account can serve this purpose, or you help to seek an honest and, reliable businessman who can assist us. Though I know that a transaction of this magnitude will make any one apprehensive and worried, but I am assuring you that this transaction is being handled by me and my colleagues, who are also departmental heads in the same bank.

During the course of our audit ing we discovered a floating fund in a domiciliary account opened in the bank in 2000 and since 2004 nobody has operated on this account, after going through some old files in the records we discovered that the owner of the account who is a foreigner died in Madrid Bombing of 11th of March 2004,without any traceable next of kin hence the dormant nature of the account and if nobody come to claim this funds it will be re- channel to government coffers as unclaimed funds.

If this proposal is acceptable by you, do not take undue advantage of th e trust I have bestowed in you, I await your swift response via my personal mail : (marshall22b@gmail.com)

Mustard Seed Thoughts: Grateful Hearts

ChristWeb.com : Mustard Seed Thoughts
Grateful Hearts
By: Ron Edmondson Mustard Seed Thoughts
Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer saying, Thus far has the Lord helped us. 1 Samuel 7:12 NIV

Stop right now. Look at your life. Has God done anything for you? Mark this place and time so you never forget it again!

Samuel had cried out to the Lord on behalf of the Israelites. The Lord had answered Samuel's prayer and delivered the Philistines into their hands. Samuel never wanted to forget this day!

Perhaps God has done something special in your life. Maybe He just let you live another day. Maybe He granted you a desire of your heart. Maybe He surprised you with a special blessing. Perhaps He has assured you of His love for you again.

Whatever the reason, don't you have something for which you are grateful to God? Take this special opportunity to let Him know. Then find a way to physically mark this place in time so you never forget it again.

I know this may sound t rite, but believe me, it works. Plus, it's Biblical! You might plant a tree out in your yard. Hang a picture on the wall. Place a stone in your garden. I write it down. I find a place I will go to often and write it on paper. Then, whenever I read it, I am reminded of what God has done for me.

Make a spiritual marker today! God has been good to you and you need to remember!

=========================== TODAY'S ARTICLE ==========================

Try It On First, by Steve Ridgell

My wife and I shop for clothes differently. I head for the "sale" rack,
see something I like, make a quick guess at the approximate right size,
and take it home. She, on the other hand, would never leave the store
without having tried on every single article of clothing that might
have potential. She will not buy something just because it is cheap.
Nor will she spend more than she thinks something is worth. It takes
her much longer to buy clothes than it does me. Much longer. On the
other hand, she never has to return anything and she is usually happy
with what she bought. I sometimes have to return clothes that do not
fit right, or I complain about the collar being too tight, or the
sleeves being too short. I have bought shirts, packed them for a trip,
and then did not like the way they felt when I wore them.

Trying on clothes reminds me of how some people make decisions about
Jesus. They make a decision about Jesus like I shop for clothes: no
thought, no examination, no evaluation, and no consideration of the
true value. No wonder they sometimes end up unhappy with their
decision. It is prudent for the non Christian to spend some time
"shopping" for Jesus. Examine what he said, study how he lived, spend
time around his followers. Find out if Jesus really does give hope,
peace, joy, and purpose to life.

Consider the cost. Following Jesus is not cheap. It is not easy. You
are the only one who can decide if the cost is worth it. Most people
will decide it is not. When he came to this earth, most people rejected
him. Some because they loved the riches of this life more, some because
they loved the trappings and power of the religious status quo more,
and others because they cared more for their current lifestyle. Yet
others saw their deepest needs met in Jesus. They found in him the
answer to the emptiness of their lives. He filled a hunger and thirst
that they had never been able to quench.

Do some comparison shopping. What do other religions teach? How do they
live? What value do they give in comparison to the cost of joining?
What about life without Jesus? What are the benefits? What does it cost
to choose life without Jesus? Look at the lives of those who do not
believe Jesus? As a "sales clerk" for Jesus, I am excited to share what
we have to offer. It is the best buy ever.

Jesus is absolutely the best "deal" you will ever be offered.

Following Jesus is the best "deal" I ever made. I cannot imagine life
without him. In him I am loved, provided for, and valued. I live a life
that has meaning and purpose. He helps me survive the bad times and has
given me more good times that I ever could deserve or achieve on my
own. I have a great life.

So feel free to check Jesus out for yourself. See if he is worth it. If
I can help you learn more about him, write me at steve@hopeforlife.org.

Morning & Evening -- Hosea 3:1 and Joshua 20:3

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / Charles Spurgeon's MORNING & EVENING http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

MORNING:

"The love of the Lord."
-- Hosea 3:1

Believer, look back through all thine experience, and think of the way
whereby the Lord thy God has led thee in the wilderness, and how he
hath fed and clothed thee every day-how he hath borne with thine ill
manners-how he hath put up with all thy murmurings, and all thy
longings after the flesh-pots of Egypt-how he has opened the rock to
supply thee, and fed thee with manna that came down from heaven. Think
of how his grace has been sufficient for thee in all thy troubles-how
his blood has been a pardon to thee in all thy sins-how his rod and his
staff have comforted thee. When thou hast thus looked back upon the
love of the Lord, then let faith survey his love in the future, for
remember that Christ's covenant and blood have something more in them
than the past. He who has loved thee and pardoned thee, shall never
cease to love and pardon. He is Alpha, and he shall be Omega also: he
is first, and he shall be last. Therefore, bethink thee, when thou
shalt pass through the valley of the shadow of death, thou needest fear
no evil, for he is with thee. When thou shalt stand in the cold floods
of Jordan, thou needest not fear, for death cannot separate thee from
his love; and when thou shalt come into the mysteries of eternity thou
needest not tremble, "For I am persuaded, that neither death; nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor
things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be
able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our
Lord." Now, soul, is not thy love refreshed? Does not this make thee
love Jesus? Doth not a flight through illimitable plains of the ether
of love inflame thy heart and compel thee to delight thyself in the
Lord thy God? Surely as we meditate on "the love of the Lord," our
hearts burn within us, and we long to love him more.

EVENING:

"Your refuge from the avenger of blood."
-- Joshua 20:3

It is said that in the land of Canaan, cities of refuge were so
arranged, that any man might reach one of them within half a day at the
utmost. Even so the word of our salvation is near to us; Jesus is a
present Saviour, and the way to him is short; it is but a simple
renunciation of our own merit, and a laying hold of Jesus, to be our
all in all. With regard to the roads to the city of refuge, we are told
that they were strictly preserved, every river was bridged, and every
obstruction removed, so that the man who fled might find an easy
passage to the city. Once a year the elders went along the roads and
saw to their order, so that nothing might impede the flight of any one,
and cause him, through delay, to be overtaken and slain. How graciously
do the promises of the gospel remove stumbling blocks from the way!
Wherever there were by-roads and turnings, there were fixed up
hand-posts, with the inscription upon them-"To the city of refuge!"
This is a picture of the road to Christ Jesus. It is no roundabout road
of the law; it is no obeying this, that, and the other; it is a
straight road: "Believe, and live." It is a road so hard, that no
self-righteous man can ever tread it, but so easy, that every sinner,
who knows himself to be a sinner may by it find his way to heaven. No
sooner did the man-slayer reach the outworks of the city than he was
safe; it was not necessary for him to pass far within the walls, but
the suburbs themselves were sufficient protection. Learn hence, that if
you do but touch the hem of Christ's garment, you shall be made whole;
if you do but lay hold upon him with "faith as a grain of mustard
seed," you are safe.

"A little genuine grace ensures
The death of all our sins."

Only waste no time, loiter not by the way, for the avenger of blood is
swift of foot; and it may be he is at your heels at this still hour of
eventide.

My Utmost For His Highest : "The Overmastering Majesty Of Personal Power"

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST -- http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

February 4, 2009

THE OVERMASTERING MAJESTY OF PERSONAL POWER

For the love of Christ constraineth us.

2 Corinthians 5:14
http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=2co+5:14&sr=1

Paul says he is overruled, overmastered, held as in a vice, by the
love of Christ. Very few of us know what it means to be held in a
grip by the love of God; we are held by the constraint of our
experience only. The one thing that held Paul, until there was
nothing else on his horizon, was the love of God. "The love of Christ
constraineth us" - when you hear that note in a man or woman, you can
never mistake it. You know that the Spirit of God is getting
unhindered way in that life.

When we are born again of the Spirit of God, the note of testimony is
on what God has done for us, and rightly so. But the baptism of the
Holy Ghost obliterates that for ever, and we begin to realize what
Jesus meant when He said - "Ye shall be witnesses unto Me." Not
witnesses to what Jesus can do - that is an elementary witness - but
"witnesses unto Me." We will take everything that happens as
happening to Him, whether it be praise or blame, persecution or
commendation. No one can stand like that for Jesus Christ who is not
constrained by the majesty of His personal power. It is the only
thing that matters, and the strange thing is that it is the last
thing realized by the Christian worker. Paul says he is gripped by
the love of God, that is why he acts as he does. Men may call him mad
or sober, but he does not care; there is only one thing he is living
for, and that is to persuade men of the judgment seat of God, and of
the love of Christ. This abandon to the love of Christ is the one
thing that bears fruit in the life, and it will always leave the
impression of the holiness and of the power of God, never of our
personal holiness.

Praying with Paul : "More than Conquerors"

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / PRAYING WITH PAUL from HEARTLIGHT -- http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

MORE THAN CONQUERORS

Romans 8:34-37
http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=Romans+8:34-37

Dear Father, our ultimate security and joy,

Since Christ Jesus, who died, is at your right hand interceding
for us, who shall separate us from your love? Shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword? No, not even the sword, for it is written, "For your sake we
are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be
slaughtered."

Shall any of these terrible things change your love one bit? No,
in all these things we are more than conquerors through you, the
awesome God who loved us with an awesome love.

May I never forget your love or ignore your sacrifice. May I never
use trouble as an excuse for not doing good, for you have the power
and authority to use trouble to produce good, and so I submit
myself to your transforming power.

In the name of your holy Son, I pray. Amen.

WJD! -- A Friend Like No Other -- Matthew 4:24

A Friend Like No Other

The news about Jesus spread all over Syria. And people
brought all the sick people to Jesus. These sick people were
suffering from different kinds of diseases and pain. Some
people were suffering with very bad pain, some people had
demons inside them, some people were epileptics, and some
people were paralyzed (crippled). Jesus healed all these
people.

-- Matthew 4:24 (ERV)

KEY THOUGHT:
Jesus healed them all! He could handle any kind of pain. He could
handle any kind of person. He could meet any kind of need. He could
overthrow any kind of oppression. No wonder people heard about him from
all over the region. In an old hymn, Christians sing about Jesus, who
"knows all about our struggles," who is a friend like no other -- he
not only cares about our pain; he also ministers to it. So what
struggle, hurt, pain, challenge, or illness do we refuse to share with
him?

TODAY'S PRAYER:
Loving God and Tender Shepherd, please hear my cry for help with the
struggles and difficulties in my life. I confess that all too often I
have tried to handle them alone. I know I cannot face these
difficulties without your help, grace and power. Please bless me with
these today, I pray, in Jesus' name. Amen.
