=========================== TODAY'S ARTICLE ==========================

Remember, by Tim Archer

When they were young, my kids loved videos. They could watch the same
movies over and over again. Consequently, I watched the same movies
over and over again. Not as many times as my kids, but I certainly
would get a good dose of each movie. One favorite in our household was
the Disney movie, "Lion King." In the movie, Simba, the young lion who
is next in line to be king of his pride is present when his father dies
in an accident. Simba is convinced that he is to blame for his father's
death and flees into the desert. He is rescued there by two jungle
animals who take him to an oasis and nurse him back to health. These
are insectivores, eating only grubs, worms and other bugs. They teach
the young lion to live as they do. Their key phrase is "Hakuna Matata,"
a Swahili phrase meaning "There are no worries here." For them, life
was about eating, dancing and singing. They felt no responsibilities
toward anyone else.

Then comes the time when Simba has a vision of his dead father. The
ex-king has one word for his son: "Remember." The young lion was meant
to be royalty, king of the beasts, leader of the pride of lions.
Instead, he was eating bugs and living a selfish life. His life was far
from what it was meant to be.

Remember!

For many of us, that's the very thing that we need. We need to
remember. We need to remember who we are supposed to be. We need to
remember who God made us to be. We were not made to live like animals.
God has instilled in us a sense of purpose, a dignity, a higher
calling. We need to remember.

Just as Simba needed to remember whose son he was, we need to see that
God has given us the chance to be His sons. We can be so much more than
bug-eating self-centered animals. We can be royalty, sons and daughters
of the King, children of God. We can be part of God's family, living
our lives with purpose and dignity. We have been called to greatness.
We just have to remember who we are. We just have to remember Whose
children we can be.

purpose for you, contact me at tim@hopeforlife.org or leave a comment

Morning & Evening -- Romans 4:20 and Ruth 2:14

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / Charles Spurgeon's MORNING & EVENING

http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

MORNING:

"Strong in faith."
-- Romans 4:20

Christian, take good care of thy faith; for recollect faith is the only
way whereby thou canst obtain blessings. If we want blessings from God,
nothing can fetch them down but faith. Prayer cannot draw down answers
from God's throne except it be the earnest prayer of the man who
believes. Faith is the angelic messenger between the soul and the Lord
Jesus in glory. Let that angel be withdrawn, we can neither send up
prayer, nor receive the answers. Faith is the telegraphic wire which
links earth and heaven-on which God's messages of love fly so fast,
that before we call he answers, and while we are yet speaking he hears
us.

But if that telegraphic wire of faith be snapped, how can we receive
the promise? Am I in trouble?-I can obtain help for trouble by faith.
Am I beaten about by the enemy?-my soul on her dear Refuge leans by
faith. But take faith away-in vain I call to God. There is no road
betwixt my soul and heaven. In the deepest wintertime faith is a road
on which the horses of prayer may travel-aye, and all the better for
the biting frost; but blockade the road, and how can we communicate
with the Great King?

Faith links me with divinity. Faith clothes me with the power of God.
Faith engages on my side the omnipotence of Jehovah. Faith ensures
every attribute of God in my defence. It helps me to defy the hosts of
hell. It makes me march triumphant over the necks of my enemies. But
without faith how can I receive anything of the Lord? Let not him that
wavereth-who is like a wave of the Sea-expect that he will receive
anything of God!

O, then, Christian, watch well thy faith; for with it thou canst win
all things, however poor thou art, but without it thou canst obtain
nothing. "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that
believeth."

EVENING:

"And she did eat, and was sufficed, and left."
-- Ruth 2:14

Whenever we are privileged to eat of the bread which Jesus gives, we
are, like Ruth, satisfied with the full and sweet repast. When Jesus is
the host no guest goes empty from the table. Our head is satisfied with
the precious truth which Christ reveals; our heart is content with
Jesus, as the altogether lovely object of affection; our hope is
satisfied, for whom have we in heaven but Jesus? and our desire is
satiated, for what can we wish for more than "to know Christ and to be
found in him?" Jesus fills our conscience till it is at perfect peace;
our judgment with persuasion of the certainty of his teachings; our
memory with recollections of what he has done, and our imagination with
the prospects of what he is yet to do. As Ruth was "sufficed, and
left," so is it with us. We have had deep draughts; we have thought
that we could take in all of Christ; but when we have done our best we
have had to leave a vast remainder. We have sat at the table of the
Lord's love, and said, "Nothing but the infinite can ever satisfy me; I
am such a great sinner that I must have infinite merit to wash my sin
away;" but we have had our sin removed, and found that there was merit
to spare; we have had our hunger relieved at the feast of sacred love,
and found that there was a redundance of spiritual meat remaining.
There are certain sweet things in the Word of God which we have not
enjoyed yet, and which we are obliged to leave for awhile; for we are
like the disciples to whom Jesus said, "I have yet many things to say
unto you, but ye cannot bear them now." Yes, there are graces to which
we have not attained; places of fellowship nearer to Christ which we
have not reached; and heights of communion which our feet have not
climbed. At every banquet of love there are many baskets of fragments
left. Let us magnify the liberality of our glorious Boaz.

My Utmost For His Highest : "The Way Of Abraham In Faith"

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST --

http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

March 19, 2008

THE WAY OF ABRAHAM IN FAITH

He went out, not knowing whither he went."

Hebrews 11:8

http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=heb+11:8&sr=1

In the Old Testament, personal relationship with God showed itself in
separation, and this is symbolized in the life of Abraham by his
separation from his country and from his kith and kin. To day the
separation is more of a mental and moral separation from the way that
those who are dearest to us look at things, that is, if they have not
a personal relationship with God. Jesus Christ emphasized this (see
Luke 14:26).

Faith never knows where it is being led, but it loves and knows the
One Who is leading. It is a life of Faith, not of intellect and
reason, but a life of knowing Who makes us "go." The root of faith is
the knowledge of a Person, and one of the biggest snares is the idea
that God is sure to lead us to success.

The final stage in the life of faith is attainment of character.
There are many passing transfigurations of character; when we pray we
feel the blessing of God enwrapping us and for the time being we are
changed, then we get back to the ordinary days and ways and the glory
vanishes. The life of faith is not a life of mounting up with wings,
but a life of walking and not fainting. It is not a question of
sanctification; but of something infinitely further on than
sanctification, of faith that has been tried and proved and has stood
the test. Abraham is not a type of sanctification, but a type of the
life of faith, a tried faith built on a real God. "Abraham believed
God."

Mustard Seed Thoughts: Look Up Three

ChristWeb.com : Mustard Seed Thoughts
Look Up Three
By: Ron Edmondson Mustard Seed Thoughts

and I said, "O my God, I am ashamed and embarrassed to lift up my face to You, my God, for our iniquities have risen above our heads and our guilt has grown even to the heavens. Ezra 9:6 NASU

You may want more than anything to sense the approval of God. You may want to follow His plan for your life, but every time you try; you fail. It seems you do the wrong thing more than you do the right thing. Even if you are better than you used to be, theres that thing from your past that haunts you constantly. You have a hard time showing your face before God, because you feel the shame of your sins.

Can I help you? Look up and let go! God loves you more than you can imagine. His grace is sufficient for all your sins. He forgives those who confess and receive forgiveness. The choice to receive or reject forgiveness is yours. Period.

If you choose to remain in the guilt of your past then, and I say this with all due respect, you are ignoring the free gift of Gods grace. You are rejecting the very heart of the Gospel. You are choosing to live without the truth of why Jesus came, lived and died.

I encourage you to look deep into the heart of God and receive His free gift of forgiveness. Serve Him in freedom and the abundance of His love. Let not your past hinder you from the amazing future He has planned for you!

SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT

1 Corinthians 2:14-16

http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=1+Corinthians+2:14-16

Dear Father, who gives us the mind of Christ,

The natural person cannot understand us or you, or what you are
doing in us, for these things are spiritually discerned, and he
cannot receive your gifts.

Natural people cannot judge us, but you enable us to judge
everything. "For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to
instruct him?" But we understand, for you have given us the very
mind of Christ!

How wonderful it is! How great and merciful you are to give us
this precious gift! I love you, Lord.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

In the name of Jesus I give you thanks for the supernatural wisdom
you have bestowed on us by reason of our faith. Amen.

WJD! -- Satan's Goal -- Mark 5:3-5

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------

Satan's Goal

This man lived in the burial caves. No person could tie him.
Even chains could not keep this man tied. Many times people
had used chains to tie the man's hands and feet. But the man
broke the chains on his hands and feet. No person was strong
enough to control him. Day and night the man walked around
the burial caves and on the hills. The man would scream and
cut himself with rocks.

-- Mark 5:3-5 (ERV)

KEY THOUGHT:
So often the power and influence of the Devil is minimized. To believe
in a real being behind evil is ridiculed in many circles. Yet Scripture
assumes a belief in a real "evil one" that stands behind real evil.
What we are able to witness in Mark 5 with this man possessed by demons
is the goal of the work of the Devil in human lives. He longs to
isolate, degrade, and torture those whom he controls. His power is
unrelentingly strong, yet he uses his strength to hold people in fear
because of death. Ultimately, when the evil one gains a foothold in our
lives, he leads us to self-destructive behavior. Don't minimize the
Devil's power or presence. Instead, center your life on Jesus, the one
who conquered the evil one's power and broke his death-grip on us.

TODAY'S PRAYER:
Father, forgive me if I have ever minimized evil and the Devil's power
exerted through it. Thank you for sending Jesus to destroy the Devil's
hold on my life. Give me strength to resist his attacks and give me
strength to overcome his influence in my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Today's Verse : Acts 3:19-20

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / TODAY'S VERSE from HEARTLIGHT --

http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

March 19, 2008

VERSE:
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped
out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he
may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you -- even Jesus.
-- Acts 3:19-20

http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=Acts+3:19-20

THOUGHT:
When was the last time that you caught yourself straying from a
passionate walk with the Lord? Refreshing times come when we change
our hearts and lives to live for God and with God in our everyday
lives! In fact, Jesus has told us that he will reveal himself to us
as we live obediently for him (see John 14:15-21). His home will be
in us until he returns for us and we get to enjoy the ultimate
refreshment -- going home to be with him forever.

PRAYER:
Abba Father, I am consciously turning my life over to you today.
I ask for your forgiveness for any sin that I have committed.
Please refresh me through a deeper awareness of Jesus' lordship and
presence in my life today. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
