Magnifying Christ (2)

Magnifying Christ (2)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bible Verses ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Phil.1:19 For I know that for me this will turn out to
salvation through your petition and the bountiful supply of
the Spirit of Jesus Christ, (20) According to my earnest
expectation and hope that in nothing I will be put to shame,
but with all boldness, as always, even now Christ will be
magnified in my body, whether through life or through death.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words of Ministry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(Part 2 of 3)
We can magnify Christ even in situations where we have little
or no liberty to speak about Him. Although teachers may not
be able to preach the gospel to their students, they can
magnify Christ in the classroom. They can cause Christ to
appear great in the eyes of their students. I do not believe
that when Paul was in prison, he was free to do much
preaching of Christ. On the contrary, he was very limited and
under strict control. However, even in such circumstances,
Christ was magnified in his body. With all boldness Paul
sought to magnify Him always.

Paul says that Christ would be magnified in him whether
through life or through death. No matter what faced him--the
opportunity to go on living or martyrdom--Paul expected to
magnify Christ. In his living Paul magnified Christ. This is
to magnify Him through life. As he was expecting to be
martyred, he also magnified Him. This is to magnify Christ
through death. Thus, whether through life or death, Christ
was magnified in Paul's imprisoned and chained body.
Obviously this is not mere doctrine; it is the genuine
experience of Christ.

In verse 19 Paul mentions the bountiful supply of the Spirit
of Jesus Christ. If we allow the bountiful supply of the
Spirit to work in us, our daily living will be changed. We
shall be burdened to magnify Christ always and with all
boldness. Through our magnifying of Christ, others will see
His greatness and His unlimitedness. To magnify Christ in
such a way surely is to live Him.

Today's Verse : Proverbs 19:21

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / TODAY'S VERSE from HEARTLIGHT -- http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

January 30, 2009

VERSE:
Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's
purpose that prevails.

-- Proverbs 19:21
http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=Proverbs+19:21

THOUGHT:
"What are your plans for today?" If you are like me, you
prayerfully try to plan your day. You make appointments with people
in the future so you can address their needs, hear their concerns,
or discuss issues and projects. But, we need to always live humbly,
recognizing that none of our plans will be of value unless those
plans come from the Father!

PRAYER:
Holy God and righteous Father, please bless me as I seek to
discern your will in my decisions today. I recognize that each
breath that I take is a gift and that each success is because of
your grace. Please use me to your glory and help me find your path
for my life. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

PATRICKS EURACKS,

Dear Beloved,

Dear Beloved,

My name is Mrs Teressa Sutton, a Briton by origin, but
married to an American, Mr James Sutton who was murdered by unknown
assailants last year in Wales.

My husband worked with Intel Limited in England as a
manager for a long time before he was appointed adviser to the Prime
Minister of England on Co-operation and integration with Africa, a
post
he held until he was brutally murdered by the suspected rival
political
parties. We were married for eleven years without a child.

When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of
15million dollars, this fund(fifteen million dollars) is in a
bank here in Europe.Presently this money is still with the Financial
Institution.

Recently, my Doctor told me that I might not last for
the next eight months due to an inflammation of my liver. This has
led to my being on 24 hours intensive care,in a private clinic here
in
England. I am tired of living like this.

I have decided to donate this fund to an individual,
group or a charity organization that will utilize this money the
way I am going to instruct herein.I want an individual,or Charity
Organization that will use this fund for orphanages, widows, and
helping land mine victims worldwide. I took this decision because I
don't have
any child that will inherit this money and my husband's relatives are
trouble makers and I don't want my husband's efforts to be used for
trivialties.I do not want a situation where my husband's sweat will be
used in material pursuits.
This is why I am taking this decision.

You can reach my lawyer (Barrister Steven Collins Esq)
with this specified email
address:Email:barristerstevencollins@inmail24.com

Tell him that I have WILLED 15 million dollars to you
by quoting my personal reference
number:Law/chamber/solicitors/te/sut/WILL/9834520012.
I have notified him that I am WILLING this amount to you for charity
purpose.

NB: I will appreciate your utmost confidentiality in
this matter until the task is accomplished as I don't want anything
that will Jeopardize my last wish. And Also I will be contacting with
you by
email as I don't want my relation or anybody to know because they are
always around me.

My lawyer would be waiting to receive your reply.

Remain blessed.

Your Sister,
Mrs.Teressa Sutton.

Mustard Seed Thoughts: Taking My Own Advice

ChristWeb.com : Mustard Seed Thoughts
Taking My Own Advice
By: Ron Edmondson Mustard Seed Thoughts
By pride comes nothing but strife, but with the well advised is wisdom. Proverbs 13:10 NKJV

I think I was about twenty-four years old when I realized most of what my parents and other adults had always said was right. For several years I had been acting as though they were idiots.

As an educated professional and a pastor, sometimes even now, I have a hard time taking advice. Somehow, probably especially as a man, I tend to think that using someone else's opinion makes me look inferior. If I can't personally think for myself, then there must be something wrong with me.

I do recognize that this type of thinking is not Biblical. Throughout the Old and New Testaments we are told to seek wise counsel. Two are better than one, according to Solomon's writings in Ecclesiastes. God has blessed me with many Christian friends, not just to provide me with company, but to offer me advice on the way I should go; to disciple me; and yes, even correct me whe n necessary.

Help us, Lord, not to forsake the Godly instruction of our Christian friends. We thank you for what you can do for us through them!

=========================== TODAY'S ARTICLE ==========================

Love Path 911: Emotional Affair, by Joe Beam

Each week Joe beam answers questions our readers submit to him about
love, sex, marriage, and relationships based on his years of experience
as a counselor and minister.

Question:

Never thought I'd be asking this question as a Christian or as a
woman who was cheated on by her former husband. What do you do when
you love a married man? He has been in a loveless marriage for
years and is frustrated because the counselor comes up with ways
for them to reconnect but his wife says she "can't go there." If a
marriage continues to be daily hell, does God desire us to stay
there? -- L. S.

God intended marriage to be a relationship of love. As the Shulamite
wrote of her husband Solomon, "I belong to my lover and his desire is
for me" (Song of Solomon 7:10 NIV). Unfortunately, sometimes it turns
out differently. Why? Jesus said, "Moses provided for divorce as a
concession to your hardheartedness, but it is not part of God's
original plan" (Matthew 19:8 MSG).

Jesus made it clear!

You are hearing only one side of the story, and hearing the wife's side
of things might change your view (Proverbs 18:17). Even if it is as bad
as described, when counseling fails there are many programs that God
uses to work miracles with marriages in trouble. (Example:
www.LovePathInternational.com) However, a major problem exists in the
situation you describe: You.

As long as the husband has a confidant -- especially a confidant in
love with him -- he cannot focus on repairing his marriage. When people
have a viable "out" awaiting them, it affects the way they see life,
marriage, and the future. In short, he will not have reliable judgment
about his marriage as long as he has relationship with you. He cannot
be objective and neither can you.

Jesus made it clear that adultery -- violation of the marriage contract
-- exists before a married person has sexual contact with another (Matthew
5:28). He commands that the tempted spouse must remove the temptation,
no matter how painful (Matthew 5:29-30). As a Christian woman,
especially one who knows the heartbreak of being cheated on, please
remove yourself from this man's life immediately. Write him a firm
"goodbye" letter, give up any hope of having him, and direct him to us,
or someone like us, so that his marriage might have a chance of
healing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have a question about love and relationships, send them to me at
ask@JoeBeam.com. I'll answer 1 or 2 questions each week, using my
counselor's experience, academic research, and a deep respect for God's
Word.

And if your marriage is in trouble, we can help. Go to
http://www.JoeBeam.com. Our success rate, even if one partner comes
reluctantly, is three out of four marriages.

Morning & Evening -- 2 Corinthians 4:18 and Genesis 8:11

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / Charles Spurgeon's MORNING & EVENING http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday, January 29, 2009

MORNING:

"The things which are not seen."
-- 2 Corinthians 4:18

In our Christian pilgrimage it is well, for the most part, to be
looking forward. Forward lies the crown, and onward is the goal.
Whether it be for hope, for joy, for consolation, or for the inspiring
of our love, the future must, after all, be the grand object of the eye
of faith. Looking into the future we see sin cast out, the body of sin
and death destroyed, the soul made perfect, and fit to be a partaker of
the inheritance of the saints in light. Looking further yet, the
believer's enlightened eye can see death's river passed, the gloomy
stream forded, and the hills of light attained on which standeth the
celestial city; he seeth himself enter within the pearly gates, hailed
as more than conqueror, crowned by the hand of Christ, embraced in the
arms of Jesus, glorified with him, and made to sit together with him on
his throne, even as he has overcome and has sat down with the Father on
his throne. The thought of this future may well relieve the darkness of
the past and the gloom of the present. The joys of heaven will surely
compensate for the sorrows of earth. Hush, hush, my doubts! death is
but a narrow stream, and thou shalt soon have forded it. Time, how
short-eternity, how long! Death, how brief-immortality, how endless!
Methinks I even now eat of Eshcol's clusters, and sip of the well which
is within the gate. The road is so, so short! I shall soon be there.

"When the world my heart is rending
With its heaviest storm of care,
My glad thoughts to heaven ascending,
Find a refuge from despair.
Faith's bright vision shall sustain me
Till life's pilgrimage is past;
Fears may vex and troubles pain me,
I shall reach my home at last."

EVENING:

"The dove came in to him in the evening."
-- Genesis 8:11

Blessed be the Lord for another day of mercy, even though I am now
weary with its toils. Unto the preserver of men lift I my song of
gratitude. The dove found no rest out of the ark, and therefore
returned to it; and my soul has learned yet more fully than ever, this
day, that there is no satisfaction to be found in earthly things-God
alone can give rest to my spirit. As to my business, my possessions, my
family, my attainments, these are all well enough in their way, but
they cannot fulfil the desires of my immortal nature. "Return unto thy
rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee." It was
at the still hour, when the gates of the day were closing, that with
weary wing the dove came back to the master: O Lord, enable me this
evening thus to return to Jesus. She could not endure to spend a night
hovering over the restless waste, not can I bear to be even for another
hour away from Jesus, the rest of my heart, the home of my spirit. She
did not merely alight upon the roof of the ark, she "came in to him;"
even so would my longing spirit look into the secret of the Lord,
pierce to the interior of truth, enter into that which is within the
veil, and reach to my Beloved in very deed. To Jesus must I come: short
of the nearest and dearest intercourse with him my panting spirit
cannot stay. Blessed Lord Jesus, be with me, reveal thyself, and abide
with me all night, so that when I awake I may be still with thee. I
note that the dove brought in her mouth an olive branch plucked off,
the memorial of the past day, and a prophecy of the future. Have I no
pleasing record to bring home? No pledge and earnest of lovingkindness
yet to come? Yes, my Lord, I present thee my grateful acknowledgments
for tender mercies which have been new every morning and fresh every
evening; and now, I pray thee, put forth thy hand and take thy dove
into thy bosom.

My Utmost For His Highest : "But It Is Hardly Credible That One Could Be So Positively Ignorant!"

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\ / MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST -- http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

January 29, 2009

BUT IT IS HARDLY CREDIBLE THAT ONE COULD BE SO POSITIVELY IGNORANT!

Who art Thou, Lord?

Acts 26:15
http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=ac+26:15&sr=1

"The Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand." There is no escape
when Our Lord speaks, He always comes with an arrestment of the
understanding. Has the voice of God come to you directly? If it has,
you cannot mistake the intimate insistence with which it has spoken
to you in the language you know best, not through your ears, but
through your circumstances.

God has to destroy our determined confidence in our own convictions.
"I know this is what I should do" - and suddenly the voice of God
speaks in a way that overwhelms us by revealing the depths of our
ignorance. We have shown our ignorance of Him in the very way we
determined to serve Him. We serve Jesus in a spirit that is not His,
we hurt Him by our advocacy for Him, we push His claims in the spirit
of the devil. Our words sound all right, but our spirit is that of an
enemy. "He rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit
ye are of." The spirit of our Lord in an advocate of His is described
in 1 Corinthians 13.

Have I been persecuting Jesus by a zealous determination to serve Him
in my own way? If I feel I have done my duty and yet have hurt Him in
doing it, I may be sure it was not my duty, because it has not
fostered the meek and quiet spirit, but the spirit of
self-satisfaction. We imagine that whatever is unpleasant is our
duty! Is that anything like the spirit of our Lord - "I delight to do
Thy will, O My God."

Praying with Paul : "A Sufficient Answer"

A SUFFICIENT ANSWER

Romans 7:21-8:1
http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=Romans+7:21-8:1

Dear Father,

I delight in your law even though evil keeps planting suggestions
of rebellion in my mind. Help me to truly want to do what is right
in your sight, Father.

Thanks be to you, my God, through Jesus Christ my Lord! You have
provided a sufficient answer to the conflict within me - the life
and sacrifice of Jesus and his resurrection.

Thank you, Father, that there is now no condemnation for me
because I am in Christ!

In the name of Jesus I thank you and praise you for the mercy
shown to me and all your chosen ones. Hallelujah. Amen.

WJD! -- The Angels Attend -- Matthew 4:11

The Angels Attend

So the devil left Jesus. And then some angels came to Jesus
and helped him.

-- Matthew 4:11 (ERV)

KEY THOUGHT:
Have you ever wondered if there was something, or someone, there? You
know, after a major decision that placed you under ridicule and attack
for choosing what was ethical, right, moral, or true. That clear good
night's sleep, that sense of peaceful well being, and that sense of
God's care and presence are not imagined. While some have made angels a
preoccupation or even a replacement for the worship of God, Christians
need to know that angels are God's servants sent to serve his faithful
believers! They are the great means of heavenly comfort and support
after major ordeals. They are the words of encouragement given to us by
the right person at just the right time. They are even in attendance
when we worship together as God's people. But the point of angels is
not angels; the point of angels is the love of God for us, his
children. Let's thank him that he has not left us alone to fight the
battles of faith or to find comfort after the battle has passed. And
let's join the angels that surround his throne in heaven with praise
for his grace, power, majesty, and faithfulness.

TODAY'S PRAYER:
Holy and Almighty God, you are worthy to receive all glory, honor, and
praise. You have sacrificed your Son to redeem me. You have blessed me
with support in my weakness, comfort in my grief, healing in my
illness, and hope in my despair. Thank you for caring for me through
Jesus in his ministry, through the Holy Spirit in his abiding presence,
and through your angels in their service to my needs. For these, and so
many other blessings to numerous to name, I thank you, in Jesus' name.
Amen.
