Mustard Seed Thoughts: Gut Call Three

Gut Call Three
By: Ron Edmondson Mustard Seed Thoughts
So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. "Quick ," he said, "get three seahs of fine flour and knead it and bake some bread." Genesis 18:6 NIV

Abraham had to make a quick decision. God was going to visit with Abraham.

(Side Note) In those days, visits from God were rare. Prior to Jesus death, the wall of separation between God and man was much more evident. Jesus death tore down the veil that separated God and man. In Abrahams day, God had to choose to personally visit a man. Instant access was not the norm. Thank God we live in the day of grace.

What would you do if God was coming to your house in a moments notice? What would you do if you looked out your peep hole and there stood God? Abraham made the best decision he knew to make. He asked his wife Sarah to bake them some bread. (Perhaps she was a good cook.) They seemed to enjoy the food and they blessed Abraham.

The point is Abraham had a decision to make quickly a nd he made it and apparently it was a good decision. If God shows up at your house; its okay to bake. (Im having fun with the story, without being disrespectful. I hope thats clear.)

I once learned a business principle that is appropriate in many aspects of life. The principle is Educate your gut and then you can make quick decisions. I think Abraham may have lived by that principle in his own life.
