Heaven Two
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:1-3 NIV
Jesus promised that: Heaven is a spacious, wonderful place. He promised that He was preparing it. He would personally come for us. He promised that we would be with Him.
It took God six days to prepare the earth...He did a pretty good job didnt He?
Can you take the awe of the Grand Canyon and multiply it by 8,000 years?
Can you take the magnificence of a snow covered mountain, or the white sandy beaches, and multiply it by all the numbers of days since the world was created?
Let me share some interesting Creation facts: (some of these I borrowed from my friend David Atchison with Disciples Call Ministry. )
If you were to take out all the salt out of the ocean, it would cover the entire land mass 150 feet deep in salt. If you put the highest mountain, Mount Everest, in the deepest part of the ocean, you would still have to travel 1 mile below the water to get to the top.
The sun is so large that it could hold 1 million of our earths within it. There are stars in space that could hold 500 million suns the size of ours. The Milky Way, the galaxy we live in, contains 100 Billion stars. There are 100 billion other known galaxies in the universe.
If the thickness of a sheet of paper represented the distance from the earth to the sun (93 million miles), the distance from the earth to the nearest star would be a stack of paper 71 feet high. The distance from one end of the known universe to the other would be a stack of paper 31 million miles high.
Yet, 1 Kings 8:27 says the heavens, even the highest heavens cannot contain thee
God created it all in 6 days. Hes still working on your place in Heaven. Can you imagine how awesome Heaven will be? Scripture tells us that we are almost Home.
It wont be much longer. Even so, come Lord Jesus!
