Words to Comfort 2
being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 NIV
God never starts a project that He doesnt complete. He doesnt have to! God has plenty of time, all the resources He needs, and God always keeps His promises. If you are a Christian, God is conforming you into the image of His Son, He is equipping you for battle in the world, and He is preparing a Heavenly home for you! Of these things you can be sure!
Before my boys could drive we took them to and from school. Sometimes my wife would ask me in the morning to take her place in that particular day. I didnt expect her to call again to ask me; once was enough. She was confident that, because I love my sons, that I would remember to pick them up. But while she has confidence in me, it is not always guarantee that I will be there, is it? Not to be morbid, but there are numerous things which could have happened to keep me from being at school in time. I am not sovereign. I couldnt control whether my car started or not, whether traffic got in my way, or if my heart would stop pumping before I got there.
God is sovereign. When He begins a work, He can and will carry it through! If you are having trouble trusting God, its because you are viewing Him more like you might view me, as a limited being. You may want to take a fresh look. God is NOT limited. God is able to do immeasurably more than you and I could ever think or imagine!
If life has you wavering in your faith, re-look at the power and potential of your God! Your problems are not too big for Him!
