Take a Pick
By: Ron Edmondson Mustard Seed Thoughts
Then the Lord said, "Call him Lo-Ammi (not my people), for you are not my people, and I am not your God." Hosea 1:9

Uh-Oh!

I ususally try to give encouragement through these devotionals and I usually take the light-hearted approach. Today may not seem quite as encouraging, but I think it's a necessary devotional just the same.

If you reject God, He will not be your God! If you choose not to make Him Lord, you are choosing not to be in His family. You cannot have it both ways. You can't expect Him to bless you (and man can He bless), if you have chosen to reject Him.

God is loving, compassionate and slow to anger. He will be patient with you, always willing to forgive you if you humbly ask Him to. But, you need to understand that you have a responsibility. Because God is also Holy and righteous, and because He requires justice, you must accept Jesus as your personal Savior. If you choose not to, and not making a decision is choosing not t o, then God will reject you as His child.

I know that is tough talk. I know some people can't accept this truth, but please understand, the Bible has never been more clear on a topic. God is waiting for you to call on Him so that you can be a part of His kingdom. That is the way it is and there is no other way!

I am not sure about you, but I know that I never want to be called Lo-Ammi. I never want to hear God say, "you are not my people". I don't want to be cast out of His presence. When I compare the alternative, when I consider the two different futures, I want to be on the side of the Creator, Sustainer, and Designer of the Universe. I want to be a child of God!

What is your name? You could be called Son or Daughter, or He could say "Away from me! I never knew you!".

Take your pick!
