Grateful Hearts
By: Ron Edmondson Mustard Seed Thoughts
Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer saying, Thus far has the Lord helped us. 1 Samuel 7:12 NIV

Stop right now. Look at your life. Has God done anything for you? Mark this place and time so you never forget it again!

Samuel had cried out to the Lord on behalf of the Israelites. The Lord had answered Samuel's prayer and delivered the Philistines into their hands. Samuel never wanted to forget this day!

Perhaps God has done something special in your life. Maybe He just let you live another day. Maybe He granted you a desire of your heart. Maybe He surprised you with a special blessing. Perhaps He has assured you of His love for you again.

Whatever the reason, don't you have something for which you are grateful to God? Take this special opportunity to let Him know. Then find a way to physically mark this place in time so you never forget it again.

I know this may sound t rite, but believe me, it works. Plus, it's Biblical! You might plant a tree out in your yard. Hang a picture on the wall. Place a stone in your garden. I write it down. I find a place I will go to often and write it on paper. Then, whenever I read it, I am reminded of what God has done for me.

Make a spiritual marker today! God has been good to you and you need to remember!
