The Storm Growth, Part 3
Leaving the crowd behind, they took Him along, just as He was, in the boat. There were also other boats with Him. Mark 4:36 NIV
Not fully knowing all of Jesus intentions for a nighttime boat ride, the disciples followed their Lords lead and got into the boat. I love the phrase, they took Him along, just as He was.
At some point in your Christian life you will have to surrender your plans to Gods plans. You must give up your agenda for Gods agenda.
The disciples didnt try to change Jesus to meet their needs or desires. They didnt reschedule the appointment. They didnt try to change the appearance of Jesus. They didnt try and make Jesus fit into their view of who God was supposed to be. They didn't even try to change boats! They took Jesus just as He was.
Have you accepted Jesus just as He is? The world wants to make Jesus fit into its concept of God. Most people want to accept the Jesus who doesnt make them too uncomfortable. T hey want a Jesus that wont stretch them too far. They want a Jesus that wont disrupt their neat little plans for life. The world today wants a tolerant Jesus; a Jesus willing to accept the desires of the world.
Jesus came, in His own words, to turn father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother. Jesus came to be a dividing line between the truth and a lie. Jesus came to separate light from darkness. Jesus came to be the Savior to all who would believe, but to be the rejecter of all who refuse to call upon His Name. Have you taken THIS Jesus...just as this Jesus is? Dear friend, He will not be accepted any other way!
Dear God, help us to accept You in spirit and truth just as You are!
