Your Satisfaction 1
By: Ron Edmondson Mustard Seed Thoughts
Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless. Ecclesiastes 5:10 NIV

This week we are going to look at the issue of satisfaction. Are you content with where you are in life? Are you satisfied? We will be using the wisdom of Ecclesiastes. Solomon, the wisest of the wise, will share with us, inspired by the Holy Spirit, some principles of satisfaction.

Todays verse has always been so easy for me to understand. Sometimes I have to study a passage for days before the truth of it begins to soak into my heart, but I caught on to this one very quickly. I think that is because I have seen this principle so many times in my life. Those who love money truly do never have money enough!

Even though I understand the verse, I spent some additional time reflecting on that truth. You know, this principle can be applied to other situations of life also. Take a child, for instance, that lov es toys. It could be said like this: Whoever loves toys, never has toys enough. If a child really loves toys, every time they go to the toy store they will want another toy, right? It could also be said, Whoever loves sports, never has sports enough. Those are not necessarily bad things, but we tend to want more of what we love, right?

I want to put a new spin on this verse. What if I said, Whoever loves Jesus, never has Jesus enough? You know, that is true. The more satisfied and in love with Jesus you are, the more you will desire to know Him and to serve Him.

This week, let us learn to find our satisfaction in the person of Jesus Christ!
